This temple-like structure is the adequate hull for
a prominent collection of Greek and Roman statues. On warm summer evenings
its frontal base is crowded with people enjoying the setting sun, most
of them students at the Technical University nearby. Bring with you
your Badminton bats or Frisbee disk because the lawns around Glyptothek
give you plenty of space for playing or picnicking (the same is true
for the surroundings of Alte Pinakothek, see below), though sometimes
you have to drive away a dog. If you are more the brainy type, you also
can play or watch outdoor chess. Chessmen and boards available on the
right side of the square between Glyptothek and Brienner Straße.
